Board of Directors

The Board of the Swiss Society for Eating Disorders (SSED) comprises of three to seven members who coordinate the society's activities. The current board members are:

Ms. Prof. Dr. med. Gabriella Milos (PRESIDENT)

Current Position

  • Specialist in psychiatry and psychotherapy FMH, focus on consultant and liaison psychiatry 
  • Senior Consultant at the Clinic for Conciliary Psychiatry and Psychosomatics, University Hospital Zurich
  • Long-term management of the Center for Eating Disorders at the Clinic for Conciliary Psychiatry and Psychosomatics, University Hospital Zurich 

Clinical Focus

The clinical focus is on the interdisciplinary psychiatric and psychotherapeutic treatment of eating disorders, addressing both their psychological and somatic comorbidities.

Reference to SSED

Prof. Milos, President of the Swiss Society for Eating Disorders (SSED), has been a member of the SSED Board since 2018. Her contributions include organizing international symposia since 2004 and founding the Center for Eating Disorders at the Clinic for Conciliary Psychiatry and Psychosomatics. She has also been actively involved in teaching, research, and publication activities in the field of eating disorders for over two decades.

Current Position

  • Specialist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychotherapy FMH
  • Chief Physician and Deputy Clinic Director of the Clinic for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry of the Psychiatric University Hospital Zurich

Clinical Focus

  • Psychiatric and psychotherapeutic treatment of eating disorders in children and adolescents
  • Management of depression in children and adolescents
  • Addressing gender variance in children and adolescents
  • Providing family counseling and conducting family therapy

Reference to SSED

A long-standing member of the Swiss Society for Eating Disorders (SSED), serving on the board since 2005 and as board president from 2015 to 2022. Contributions include numerous publications, lectures, and public outreach initiatives in the field of eating disorders.

Ms. Dr. phil. Armita Tschitsaz

Current Position

  • Federally recognized psychotherapist/ specialist psychologist for psychotherapy FSP
  • Senior Psychologist, Head of Therapy at the Center for Eating Disorders of the KJP, University Psychiatric Services Bern

Clinical Focus

Specialized in the psychotherapeutic treatment of:

  • Eating disorders
  • Addictive and affective disorders, and
  • Personality disorders

Other areas of expertise include:

  • Therapy planning
  • Psychotherapy Progression, and
  • Health Care Research

A member of the Swiss Society for Eating Disorders (SSED) and serving on the board since 2015. Actively engaged in clinical and scientific work on eating disorders, with numerous publications and contributions to continuing education in this field.

Mr. PD Dr. med. Lars Wöckel

Current Position

  • Specialist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychotherapy FMH
  • Head physician of the Center for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at Clienia Littenheid AG, Switzerland.
  • Since 2017 Medical Director ad interim of the Centers for Child, Youth and Family (ZKJF) in Thurgau

Clinical Focus

Specialized in the psychiatric and psychotherapeutic treatment of:

  • Eating disorders in children and adolescents
  • Borderline disorders
  • Trauma-related conditions, and
  • Mental health disorders in the context of migration

Additionally trained in:

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Adolescents (DBT-A), and
  • Schema Therapy

 

Reference to SSED

A long-standing member of the board of the Swiss Society for Eating Disorders (SSED). Actively engaged in clinical and scientific research on eating disorders, including a habilitation in 2011 focused on the biological factors involved in the maintenance of eating disorders.

Clinical Focus

Specialized in the outpatient psychosomatic and psychotherapeutic treatment of eating disorders in adolescents and adults, both in clinical and practice settings.

Additional expertise includes:

  • Integrative treatment for adolescents and adults with obesity
  • Certified MSIT leader and Obesity Therapist (akj),
  • Pre-bariatric assessments and post-bariatric follow-up care within a reference center
  • A special interest in psychoendocrinology and sex therapy

A founding member of the Swiss Society for Eating Disorders (SSED) and a long-standing member of the European Network for Eating Disorders (ENES). Serving on the SSED board since 2020, actively involved in publications, teaching, lectures, and public outreach in the fields of eating disorders and obesity.

Clinical Focus

Specializes in integrative, outpatient treatment and nutritional therapy for classic eating disorders, with a particular focus on children, adolescents, and family-centered care.

Reference to SSED

Actively represents the importance of interprofessional collaboration in professional practice as a member of the SSED Board of Directors. Dedicated to strengthening the integration of nutrition topics and promoting the expertise of subject matter professionals in the field of eating disorders.
